Coronavirus (Covid-19) Infection and Pregnancy - information for healthcare professionals
Key points include:
- Pregnant staff at any gestation “should be offered the choice of whether to work in direct patient-facing roles during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
- Prior to 28 weeks, pregnant staff should practise social distancing but can “choose to work in a patient-facing roles after occupational health risk assessment”, provided the necessary precautions are taken.
- Staff over 28 weeks pregnant, or with underlying health conditions, should avoid direct patient contact and are “recommended to stay at home”.
