Student support guidance

07/04/2020

istock-669931338.jpgA student support document for the allied health professions in England has been published, offering guidance to all students on how they can continue to study and support the health and care system during the Covid-19 emergency.

Created by Health Education England (HEE), the document advises students in each year of education on the impact of Covid-19 to their study and financial situations, as well as information on joining the temporary register and health and wellbeing during the emergency period.

The Society’s director of industrial strategy and member relations, Dean Rodgers, and student membership officer, Nic Smith, contributed their expertise to support radiography students.

All AHP students are being sent a letter headed Your education programme and responding to the Covid-19 epidemic, setting out options and the next steps from Suzanne Rastrick, the chief allied health professions officer, and Beverley Harden, HEE allied health professions lead.

Universities will be contacting cohorts to discuss their options and ask if they would like to opt-in to a paid employment opportunity with an NHS organisation.
